Windstream Offers PC Protect for Small Businesses

July 28, 2011

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., July 28, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Windstream (Nasdaq:WIN) is now offering small business customers protection against out-of-pocket expenses related to hardware malfunctions and operating system failures.

The new service, called PC Protect, provides coverage for hardware malfunctions (hard drives, video and sound cards, and other essential PC hardware), Windows-based operating systems, and some software applications and accidental damage. A broken hard drive, for example, could cost a business owner hundreds of dollars to repair or replace. With PC Protect, a business can now have peace of mind knowing they are protected from major costs related to broken or damaged work PCs.

Highlights:

  • Helps eliminate major out-of-pocket expenses due to repair or replacement of essential PC hardware that breaks or is damaged.
  • PC Protect coverage applies to both laptop and desktop computers.
  • Business customers will have the option of purchasing a single PC subscription for $4.99 or a 3 PC subscription for $12.99.
  • PC Protect is included in the Windstream Super Bundle, which provides small businesses with Internet, voice, unlimited long distance, plus Online Backup, Internet Security Suite, Broadband Protection Plus and TechHelp.

"When a PC goes down, a small business owner has to deal with a loss of productivity and the hassle and cost of repairs," said Don Perkins, Windstream vice president of business marketing. "But with Windstream's PC Protect service, business owners can guarantee they are protected and can rest-assured that their business can get up and running again quickly."
